Our reputation as a top remodeler in Kansas City in something we take pride in. As an award winning contractor we recognize the significance of top quality construction. Even more importantly as a member of the community we recognize that our name and reputation is the key to our longevity and success.

Your Home is the best place to put your money in tough economic times

Before you go shopping for the cheapest remodel you can find please consider what your decision means.
  • Will you be happy with your decision to save a few dollars when your contractor has gone?
  • Does your contractor provide a full one year warranty on his work?
  • Does your contractor build his own custom cabinets or does he buy them from a big box store (restricting your choices and challenging your schedule)?
  • Does your contractor provide customer references you can go see and ask questions of or does he show you a book of pictures?
  •  Does your contractor belong to the reputable NARI the National Association of the Remodeling Industry or was he paid by referral from a website?
House and Renner provides excellent value. We stand behind our projects for one full year (long after the "man in the truck" has gone out of business). Please consider your options carefully. In this modern age of computer technology much of the referral business has been outsourced to websites whose motif is to generate revenue. Many contractors pay money to get referrals from these websites. These web resource services have no way of checking the background of contractors. They don't have the resources to check the financial stability, character and quality of service references that should be checked prior to hiring a construction pro. The service simply collects a fee and merges those who need service with those who say they can provide service. This cost is passed on to you for the privilege of knowing how to use your computer. You will be living in your home while contractors come in and work. Make sure you check out their references not only for their quality of work but  for your own safety. With 20 years experience, House and Renner can provide resources all over Kansas City to affirm our reputation as a top notch contractor. We work in the homes of many Kansas City area professionals. We are a conscientious, moral and ethical contractor who has years of experience building some of the most beautiful remodels in Kansas City. Everyone deserves to get not only what they paid for but also the service and expertise they should expect from a professional remodeling contractor.
The Remodel Process

Prepare for the Emotional Rollercoaster. The thrill of getting something new quickly wears off when the daily interruption of your daily routine causes tension

Remember that your home will soon become a worksite. We will work hard to respect your privacy and help minimize any inconvenience. Nonetheless, the train-station atmosphere may lead to remodeling fever. You may feel a loss of control because of disrupted routines and the impact on your personal space. The best approach is to...

a. prepare for inconvenience, and prepare well. Be sure to set aside a room in your home where you can escape from the chaos and commotion.

b. maintain a sense of humor. You may need it when the weather refuses to cooperate or a vendor postpones the delivery date for materials; and

c. enjoy the remodeling process. Tell the children you are "camping-in" and turn inconvenience into fun. Along the way, celebrate at completion of phases of the project, for example when drywall is finished order in your favorite take-out meal. With patience, consistent communication, and careful preparation, the process will go smoothly and you can enjoy the results for years. There is a light at the end of this tunnel.

About our Residential Business

We have made a name for ourselves for the top notch remodeling and construction we have performed over the past 20 plus years. We can (and prefer to) handle all aspects of the construction process leaving you to go about your daily routine without concern for who is in your house or what the contractor is doing. We work in some of the nicest homes in all of Kansas City and have never had a complaint about our ethics or that of our employees. We have worked in banks, police buildings, churches and every other high security arena without a single incident. We are the contractor you expect and deserve. We perform all of our crafts with professionalism and respect the customer's decision when they chose our company to work among their prized possessions. If you're looking for a contractor to treat you with the respect you deserve call us for a estimate, local references, or any other questions you might have regarding our services.

The majority of our residential work is in and around the Kansas City Metro primarily from Grain Valley on the East to Olathe on the West (although we do travel outside that area occasionally). It includes all aspects of tradition construction from framing, drywall, plumbing, electrical, HVAC to the finer details of painting, wallpaper, carpeting, trim and custom cabinets. We have experience in all phases of construction and while we do use subcontractors for some specialized trades, they are hand selected to meet our high standards and expectations. Everyone that works for House and Renner Construction carries Workman's Comp and Liability Insurance which protects you from risk of lawsuit if someone gets injured. Our residential construction projects range from the low $1,000's to full additions and whole house remodels in excess of $500,000. There just isn't a "typical" remodel. We're experts in custom solutions because every customer has his/her own idea of what he/she wants to improve.

House and Renner Construction has a comprehensive safety program for all of its employees to assure that each of them is aware of the risks they and others undertake as part of the daily regimen of the profession. The safety program is not only for the employees but also for the benefit of our customers. Tradesmen who are aware of the conditions which present risk to others make better informed decisions when they have to engage in relatively dangerous activities. We are proud to have year around training, a comprehensive safety program with mandatory monthly update meetings so you can be assured that our professionals know what they're doing.

We're prepared to meet with you and make plans for your new remodel. We appreciate people who take the time to plan ahead and have some idea of what they want prior to meeting however we also have the capacity to bring in design and architectural professionals should your project require them. We understand that time is important to you and your family. Give us a call or stop by our office and meet with our sales professionals.
